Anti-Morning Sickness Papaya Smoothie

During my first trimester, I found that this smoothie calmed my nausea down. Don't know how it worked but I wasn't about to question a good thing. Even if you don't have morning sickness, this smoothie will kill your ice cream cravings while giving you a whollop of calcium and vitamins A and C without all the fat. By freezing the papaya in chunks, you don't have to add ice cubes which water down the smoothie. The result is thick and rich, sweet and creamy.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups frozen papaya chunks
1-6 oz container plain yogurt
1/2 cup low fat milk
1 tsp rose water
sugar to taste (I put in about 2 tbsps)

In a very large glass - you need to allow extra room for the blending), place all the ingredients in descending order. With an immersion blender, mix until you have a smooth, frothy, semi-frozen texture. Music to blend your smoothie by: Pete Rock and CL Smooth "Take You There". Enjoy with a straw of with a spoon.

That looks yummy and what a great idea to freeze the fruit instead of using ice! Where did you get the rose water?

Where were you 13 years ago when I needed you? I wonder if it works as well with other fruits...Not a big fan of the papaya. Maybe it's the rose water that helps?

CONGRATULATIONS!

Hi Joanne, I live near via Padova where there are a lot of international grocery stores that carry rose water, cilantro and a million other things you (I) thought you couldn't find in Milan.

Hi J., I'm sure that blueberries or any other berry would be really good, maybe kiwis too. I just like papaya a lot. Also banana seems to be an ingredient of many smoothins, so probably that too.

Hi Marie, How's Chicago? Pineapple sounds yummy!
